Join Watkins IT and Watkins Meegan as we introduce and celebrate the release of Microsoft Office 2010 in this FREE, three-part, educational event held in the new state-of-the-art Microsoft facility in Chevy Chase, MD. At this event, we will introduce you to Office 2010, the many benefits that it offers and the best ways to integrate it into your business. Specifically, the three sessions will explore: the inclusion of collaboration and social media, tips and tricks for using Office 2010, and the reasons why you and your company should upgrade.

SESSION I: Collaboration and Social Media in Office 2010

Come see how Microsoft is embracing Social Media and real time collaboration. During this session we will explore the all-new multi-authoring capabilities of Office 2010. Additionally, we will give an overview of the all-new Outlook Social Connector which connects you to the social and business networks you use, including Microsoft SharePoint, Windows Live, LinkedIn and other popular third-party sites, so you can get more information and stay in touch with the people in your network without leaving Outlook.

 

SESSION II: Tips and Tricks for Office 2010

With Microsoft Office 2010, Microsoft has focused on improving presentation and automation within their applications. Come explore some of the most useful ways to best leverage the new and exciting features that Office 2010 has to offer. Learn how to build useful and professional reports, presentations and documents quickly and easy. In this one hour lunch session, we will be examining new functionality in various applications in the Office Suite such as Pivot Tables with slicers in Excel, new Word features using Quick Parts and Smart Art, and new functionality in PowerPoint that allows you to produce professional, effective presentations quickly and efficiently.

 
 

SESSION III: Why Upgrade to  Microsoft Office 2010

Whether you are a beginner, power user or expert, Microsoft Office 2010 can provide you with the functionality to improve how you do your work. By attending this two hour session, you will learn the benefits of Microsoft Office 2010 and how it can help you, your team, and your organization work more collaboratively and efficiently. Learn how to work simultaneously on a document with teammates, modifying different parts at the same time and watching the changes happen in front of you simultaneously using the Co-Authoring functionality present in Office 2010. Beyond just exploring the technology, we will examine the benefits and business reasons for an organization to upgrade to 2010.
